- The Horn is Your Voice: In the West, honking is rude. In Vietnam, it means "I am here, please notice me." Honk when overtaking or going around blind mountain curves.
- Size Matters: On mountain passes, the bigger vehicle always has the right of way. Always yield to trucks and sleeper buses—they won't stop for you!
- The Invisible Indicator: Be cautious. Many local riders may turn or pull over without using their turn signals. Maintain a safe following distance.
- Stay Predictable: Don't make sudden stops or erratic turns. Vietnamese traffic flows like water; move slowly and steadily, and others will flow around you.
